My July Video Challenge (to myself)
I'm tired of being intimidated by video, so I'm doing something about it.
How do you feel about creating video?
I’m committing to posting one video per weekday on Linkedin in July.
As AI continues to flood Linkedin (and everywhere, really), I truly believe that video is the most authentic medium for a personal brand (save for a direct conversation in person).
It’s also the most uncomfortable for most people.
One of my favorite services to provide clients is video interviews that I then edit and cut into captioned clips.
Capturing someone flowing about their passion is amazing and it really is so satisfying to see someone's face light up when they realize that they DO sound great on camera.
Yet me filming myself alone in my office?
That intimidates the hell out of me.
And I’m tired of that.
I’m perfectly capable of learning how to show up on and edit mobile video, I’m just being a chicken sh*t.
So here’s my plan:
I’ve taken a few dozen solid comments I’ve dictated into Wispr Flow and fed them to my “Social Media Script Writer” ChatGPT Project and asked for 30-45 second clip scripts.
Then I’ll upload those scripts via BIGVU, which basically turns your phone into a teleprompter, and aim to crank out a dozen of these in July.
I’ll likely post them in the afternoons or early evenings.
(to allow for ample procrastination & overthinking).
This isn’t about just trying to hop on the video bandwagon because Linkedin is pushing it.
(Ok, maybe a little…)
But really, this is more about stretching outside of my comfort zone.
My personality is magnetic and text doesn’t do it justice — I want to show up online as if you’re meeting me IRL.
And video is best for that.
I’m both nervous and excited.
Anyone want to do this with me?

p.s. Now please enjoy this video of me completely overthinking and being OCD doing a mic check <em dash> you know, focusing on what matters most in business 🙄
